Joe Thomas is an Associate in the Business Law department at Goodwin. He joined the firm in 2021. Joe concentrates his legal practice in representing biotechnology and life sciences industry clients in intellectual property matters and FDA regulatory compliance issues, including in connection with licensing and strategic alliances, M&A, and commercial transactions. Joe is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania only. He is working under the supervision of the partners at Goodwin
Professional Experience
During law school, Joe served as a law clerk to Representative James Clyburn (D-SC) in his capacity as the Chairman of the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis and to Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) in her capacity as Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions. He also served as Managing Editor of the Food and Drug Law Journal and as a graduate research assistant at Georgetown’s Center for Global Health Science and Security.
Prior to law school, Joe was a senior associate with The Pew Charitable Trusts’ antibiotic resistance project, where he conducted policy research and advocated for a range of interventions to address the rise of drug resistant infections.
