Amanda Schaefer is an associate in Goodwin’s Financial Restructuring practice, based in New York. She joined the firm in 2021. Amanda represents corporate debtors, equity sponsors, secured and unsecured creditors, asset purchasers, committees, and other parties-in-interest in out-of-court restructurings, bankruptcy proceedings, and insolvency-related matters.

Amanda’s representative matters include representing major stakeholders in the following matters:
- DBMP, representing CertainTeed LLC in chapter 11 proceedings
- Representing a North American waste management, comprehensive waste, and environmental services company as a defendant in a preference action in chapter 11 proceedings
- Representing two multinational investment banks in PROMESA Title III proceedings
- Representing a cryptocurrency brokerage and asset management corporation as a defendant in a preference action in chapter 11 proceedings arising from a cryptocurrency loan agreement and related redemptions
- Representing distressed companies in connection with wind-down alternatives including asset sales

During law school, Amanda was an articles and notes editor for the American Bankruptcy Institute Law Review, a member of the Bankruptcy Law Society, and a recipient of the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Law and Literature.
