Georgia Powell is an associate in Goodwin’s Technology and Life Sciences group. Dr. Powell has experience in advising on a range of non-contentious intellectual property and commercial matters, with a focus on the life sciences, technology and healthcare sectors. She works on transactions including licences, collaborations, distribution, manufacturing and R&D projects, as well as regulatory matters, early- stage contract disputes, and commercial and IP aspects of M&A transactions.
Prior to joining Goodwin in 2019, Dr. Powell was a senior associate at Taylor Wessing LLP.
Representative Matters
- Advised MiNA Therapeutics on its Collaboration and Licensing Agreement Option with Nippon Shinyaku for the discovery, and potential development and commercialization of small activating RNA therapeutic candidates.
- Advised MiNA Therapeutics on its a multi-target Research Collaboration and Licensing Agreement Option with BioMarin Pharmaceutical.
- Advised Synaffix B.V. on Licence Agreements and Supply Agreements with companies including ABL Bio, Hummingbird Bioscience and Innovent Biologics.
- Advised Synaffix B.V. and its selling shareholders on its sale to Lonza. Under the terms of the sale and purchase agreement, Lonza have paid Synaffix’s shareholders an upfront payment of €100 million, with the potential for shareholders to receive an additional payment of up to €60 million contingent on financial performance.
- Advised Renaissance Pharma on its exclusive Licence Agreement with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for a humanised antibody for the treatment of newly diagnosed high-risk neuroblastoma.
- Advised Oxford Biomedica on its License and Supply Agreement with Cabaletta Bio.
- Advised Tay Therapeutics on its exclusive Licence Agreements with VYNE Therapeutics.
