Joaquin Escay is a Science Advisor in the firm's Business Law department and a member of its Intellectual Property practice. He joined Goodwin in 2021.

Joaquin assists clients with prior art research, patent preparation, patent prosecution and freedom-to-operate analyses. He has extensive experience in the fields of photovoltaics, photovoltaic manufacturing, electronics and electronic manufacturing processes. Joaquin is currently working on machine learning, machine vision, data analytics, robotics, and various other electronics and software related technologies.

Professional Activities

Prior to joining Goodwin, Joaquin was a Patent Agent for SunPower Corp. Prior to becoming a Patent Agent, Joaquin was a R&D Process Engineer for SunPower Manufacturing Corp. in the Philippines, and subsequently, a Design Test Engineer at Integrated Microelectronics Inc. (Philippines).
