Joyce Chang is a law clerk in the firm’s Business Law department. Joyce’s application to the California bar is pending; she is working under the supervision of the partners at Goodwin. She joined Goodwin in 2024.
Professional Experience
While attending law school, Joyce interned at Elemental Impact (formerly Elemental Excelerator), a nonprofit investor in climate technologies in their Hawai‘i office. She also served as a research assistant for Professor Joseph DiMento, studying environmental justice impacts of urban freeways. Additionally, Joyce worked in UCI Law’s Intellectual Property, Arts, and Technology Clinic on freedom of speech and copyright issues.
Prior to attending law school, Joyce was a paralegal at a mid-size law firm in Boston, supporting both its Business, Corporate & Securities group, and Energy, Renewables & Regulated Industries practice.
Professional Activities
Joyce maintains an active pro bono practice. During law school, she earned UCI’s Pro Bono Honors Award for work in domestic violence, immigration, and tribal matters. Prior to attending law school, Joyce was a hotline crisis counselor and community educator at her local rape crisis center.
