How I Made Practice Group Chair: 'People Skills Are Key. None of Us Succeed Alone,' Says Elaine Blais of Goodwin (Law.com)

"People skills are key. So much of our business success depends on relationships—relationships with clients, with our partners, with associates and our Global Operations team. None of us succeed alone."

As a practice group leader (and a member of our executive committee), I have a front row seat to the firm’s strategic vision. Goodwin is great about allowing partners to take active roles in driving strategy and I’ve embraced that opportunity as IP litigation practice group leader. My co-chair, Brett Schuman, and I have been leading a business development initiative among our partners. I’m also leading a partner-driven analysis strategic plan relating to the future of life sciences IP litigation, Elaine Blais, co-chair of Goodwin's Intellectual Property Litigation practice and member of Goodwin’s Executive Committee, said. "I have particular interest in the future of life sciences IP litigation and being ready for whatever comes next. We got out in front of the biosimilars litigation trend with our blog (www.bigmoleculewatch.com) and our Guide to Biosimilars." To read more about Elaine’s experience, read the article on ALM Law.com.
