Goodwin associate Monica Kwok was named a New Leader in the Law at the 2024 New England Legal Awards. In their second year, the New England Legal Awards recognize the outstanding contributions and achievements made by legal professionals within the region. The New Leaders in the Law category spotlights lawyers under 40 who have excelled in the courtroom, in client service and cultivation, and in serving their community through pro bono work.
Based in Boston, Kwok is an associate in Goodwin’s Private Equity group and a member of the firm’s Search Funds and Food and Healthy Living practices. She represents traditional private equity sponsors with respect to leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and other corporate transactions. She has significant experience representing search fund clients in all phases of the search fund lifecycle, including fund formation, fundraising, acquisitions, ongoing operations, and beyond. Kwok also partners with investors, entrepreneurs, and executives on strategic milestone transactions.
Kwok is an active member of the Harvard Alumni Association, the Penn Alumni Association, and the Phillips Academy Andover community. She is a mentor and advisor to students through the Harvard Law Entrepreneurship Program, and she is involved in various community organizations including the Artist Council at the Addison Gallery of American Art and the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Campaign for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Kwok is also a frequent writer and speaker on topics related to private equity, search funds, and emerging companies, and was previously named a 2022 Up & Coming Lawyer by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly.
