Global law firm Goodwin today announced that David Cross and Mary Kaiser joined the firm’s Antitrust & Competition practice as partners, resident in the Washington, DC office.
“Over the past few years, we have significantly expanded our global antitrust platform and broadened our reach into new industries poised for regulation and enforcement,” said Caroline Bullerjahn, Co-Chair of Goodwin’s Complex Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. “David and Mary are highly accomplished trial lawyers with a wealth of experience and a proven track record in antitrust litigation, particularly in disciplines where Goodwin has a strong bench and capabilities—intellectual property, technology, and M&A. Their collective expertise will be a significant asset to the firm's diverse client base especially as antitrust authorities are increasingly pursuing new theories of harm.”
David is a leading, first-chair trial lawyer representing domestic and multinational companies in bet-the-company litigation, including class actions. He specializes in antitrust and competition, intellectual property, and commercial litigation. David practices at the cutting edge of antitrust enforcement, including the interplay of competition laws and emerging technologies, such as AI tools, online marketplaces, and “big data” monetization. He represents corporate clients as both plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state courts, arbitrations, and government investigations. David also regularly advises clients on a wide array of antitrust compliance issues, such as algorithmic pricing tools, competitor collaborations, and multisided markets.
“Goodwin provides an ideal platform to continue to grow our practice and provide the highest levels of client service,” said David Cross. “They’ve established a true culture of collegiality and collaboration that attracts and retains top talent and puts clients first. We’re excited to be part of it.”
Mary represents domestic and multinational companies in complex antitrust litigation involving claims of price fixing, monopolization, group boycotts, and refusals to deal, and handles antitrust counterclaims in intellectual property cases. Mary also advises clients on a wide range of antitrust compliance issues, including pricing strategies and the Robinson-Patman Act. Her experience encompasses numerous industries, including media, software, and consumer products.
“We’re thrilled to join Goodwin’s outstanding team of antitrust lawyers and help deepen the group’s litigation capabilities,” said Mary Kaiser. “We look forward to partnering with our colleagues to help clients across industries navigate a rapidly changing antitrust enforcement environment.”
