The Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) announced that associates Chris Garcia and Grace Truong have been chosen to participate in the 2024 Pathfinders program, and partner Sanjeet Dutta was selected to participate in the 2024 Fellow program. The three lawyers were selected based on their work ethic, leadership abilities, involvement in the community, and dedication to creating a more inclusive and diverse legal profession.
The Fellow Program provides a year-long professional development program focused on leadership and relationship building for senior attorneys. The program gives participants the opportunity to learn from top leaders in the legal profession as well as experts in the fields of learning and development and executive coaching. “I've known lawyers who have gone through the program and raved about the leadership skills they developed. I hope to use these lessons to support and further Goodwin’s diversity goals," said Sanjeet.
The Pathfinder Program is intended for a diverse set of lawyers who have demonstrated high potential. The program's objective is to give Grace and Chris useful tools for creating and utilizing internal professional networks through interpersonal relationships, the development of fundamental leadership skills, and knowledge of career development techniques that apply to both in-house and law firm practice. Grace said, “Since I joined Goodwin, it has been a top priority for me to create a supportive community for diverse associates trying to navigate life at a law firm. I hope to continue building these connections, and learn from peers across the country with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences" and Chris hopes to broaden his perspective in an effort to better serve the Goodwin community and become an “active catalyst for positive change within the legal landscape.”
Goodwin takes pride in this affiliation with the LCLD, which, established in 2009, now includes more than 400 corporate chief legal officers and managing partners of law firms. LCLD members have committed to fostering a legal profession in the United States that is genuinely diverse, inclusive, and more equitable through programs such as LCLD Pathfinders and Fellows that foster opportunities to train legal leaders, network across the legal industry, and develop strategies that can be utilized to create a more inclusive and equitable practice.
