Goodwin has hired a white-collar crime pro, Mark Beardsworth, to develop a European Government Investigations & Enforcement team in London, as regulators continue ramping up their scrutiny of fast-growth companies. Beardsworth said to Law360 that investigations for white-collar practitioners often have an international angle. He noted that Goodwin's multijurisdictional strengths will allow him to offer clients a "first class service from a U.S. and U.K. perspective" across the "full spectrum of enforcement." Oliver Glynn-Jones, head of Goodwin's European Litigation practice, praised Beardsworth's expertise. "His ability to operate cross-sector and his considerable multijurisdictional experience will help our global client base navigate the regulatory and risk environment wherever they do business. We are delighted he has chosen to join Goodwin," he said.
