Last month the Institutional Limited Partners Association published a 12-step guide to help ease tensions that can arise between general partners and institutional investors in a continuation fund. Other experts share tips for making continuation funds work for a firm and its investors. "Bring in outside valuators. Fairness opinions can help here but they aren't the only way," Financial Services and Private Investment Funds partner Greg Larkin says to Regulatory Compliance Watch. "A third-party valuation service can help, too. So can competitive auctions, or bringing in a third-party alongside or (through) the continuation fund."
