Goodwin added a team of intellectual property litigators, as Big Law firms continue to heavily recruit in the practice amid sustained demand, The American Lawyer reports. Goodwin hired a three-partner IP Litigation team in New York of Scott Weingaertner, Stefan Mentzer, and John Padro. The team said they were looking to join a firm strong in both Technology and Life Sciences. “One of our goals has been to have an anti-silo approach to what we do because technology and business don’t really care how lawyers organize themselves,” Weingaertner said in an interview. Padro added that the team was seeking to “build those deeper client relationships” at a law firm that complemented the existing client base “as well as the litigation and IP DNA of the firm.”
