Law.com International is marking International Women’s Day by recognising the U.K. industry’s most exceptional up-and-coming female lawyers from across the top law firms. Tessa Agar had been a partner for less than a year when she became the “port of call” for Goodwin client Mayfair Equity Partners. It is one of several ways she has made her mark within the firm’s esteemed Private Equity group, amid picking up lead roles advising some of the firm’s long-term clients including Accel-KKR. She describes “being in [her] element running complex and fast paced transactions”, but a senior figure at the firm says she is “one of the best young lawyers regardless of specialty”. Having been “guided and supported” by the firm’s London co-chair, Gemma Roberts, for the last 6 years, Agar has been passionate about giving back and taking on mentoring roles herself.
