A Goodwin team in Frankfurt and Silicon Valley advised Brave on its acquisition of Tailcat.
Brave’s fast, privacy-oriented browser, combined with its blockchain-based digital advertising platform, is reinventing the Web for users, publishers, and advertisers.
Tailcat is an open search engine built on top of a completely independent index that does not collect IP addresses or use personally identifiable information to improve search results. It was developed by the team formerly responsible for the privacy search and browser products at Cliqz, a holding of Hubert Burda Media.
Tailcat will become the foundation of Brave Search. Brave Search and the Brave browser constitute an independent, privacy-preserving alternative to Big Tech browsers and search engines which rely on tracking users across sites.
The Goodwin team was led by Anthony McCusker.
