Goodwin Extends Litigation Platform into London with Partner Oliver Glynn-Jones

Global law firm Goodwin announced today the extension of its award-winning litigation platform into the UK with the addition of partner Oliver Glynn-Jones. Glynn-Jones will join the firm's London office on May 1, 2020.

“Establishing litigation capabilities in London is a logical next step in continuing to deliver the integrated Goodwin experience to our clients across the private equity, real estate, technology, life sciences and financial industries throughout Europe,” said David Evans, Chair of Goodwin’s European offices. “A well-respected litigator with an impressive track record, Olly brings a skillset that is highly complementary to our platform in the UK. We look forward to welcoming him to Goodwin as we build our litigation capabilities in the region.”

“Olly’s expertise in handling complex financial services and cross-border disputes matters equips us exceptionally well to meet the commercial disputes needs of our clients on a global scale,” said Joanne Gray, Chair of Goodwin’s Litigation Department. “He is an excellent addition to the team and we are thrilled that he is joining Goodwin.”

Glynn-Jones brings more than 20 years of experience in corporate and financial litigation, during which he has resolved many complex corporate disputes, often with a cross-border element. Throughout his career, Glynn-Jones has advised across a wide array of sectors and industries, but has a particular focus on investment banking and structured finance litigation, where he has litigated cases up to the Supreme Court.

Glynn-Jones received his undergraduate degree from the University of Durham and graduated from Guildford College of Law. He is admitted to practice as a solicitor advocate in England and Wales. He is listed as a “Leading Individual” for both Banking Litigation and Commercial Litigation in the most recent Chambers UK and Legal 500 UK.

Today’s announcement marks the latest in a series of initiatives to expand Goodwin’s European footprint. In the past five years, Goodwin’s European offices have grown from 20 to more than 200 lawyers with specialties across transactional, fund formation – and now litigation – practices across the real estate, private equity, technology, life sciences and financial industries.

Goodwin’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution lawyers assist clients in a wide range of industries with trials, arbitrations, meditations and negotiations, and counsel on litigation avoidance and risk management. These matters primarily involve consumer financial services, intellectual property, white collar defense, securities litigation, commercial and business litigation, appellate, products litigation and counseling, labour and employment, ERISA litigation and antitrust.
