On October 7, 2008, Goodwin Procter will be honored by the New York Legal Aid Society as one of the recipients of the organization's Pro Bono Awards for outstanding client service. In addition, individual awards will be given to Thomas Meriam, Michael Bavli, Kathryn Starnella and alumna Laurie Holsey for their work on a variety of client matters.
The Legal Aid Society is the largest and oldest nonprofit legal services organization in the nation. Established in 1876, it is dedicated to providing free, quality legal representation to low-income New Yorkers, and provides a comprehensive range of legal services in Civil, Criminal and Juvenile Rights Practices. The interplay among these areas provides a unique opportunity for coordinated legal strategies for clients.
