BOSTON, June 15, 2006 — Goodwin Procter LLP is pleased to announce that Shepard M. Remis has recently received two honors for his volunteer commitment to the Visiting Nurse Association of Boston (VNAB).
Remis received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the VNAB at its 120th anniversary celebration that took place in Boston this spring. Remis has volunteered with the organization for more than three decades and has served as its Board Chair since 1982.
In addition, Remis was named Volunteer of the Year — Agency Board Member by the Visiting Nurse Association of America (VNAA) at its recent annual meeting in Orlando, Fla. The VNAA is the national umbrella organization of more than 400 independent home healthcare agencies throughout the United States. The award is presented to a board member who best exemplifies the spirit of volunteerism, and willingness to "go the extra mile." Remis was recognized for having "led VNAB through two decades of growth, change and challenge."
Remis is a partner in Goodwin Procter's Litigation Department in Boston and has practiced extensively in the areas of intellectual property litigation, products liability and mass torts litigation, and complex commercial litigation.
