Regina M. Pisa of Goodwin Procter Honored by YWCA Boston

Firm’s chairman and managing partner inducted into the YWCA's Academy of Women Achievers Class of 2002

BOSTON, June 5, 2002 — Goodwin Procter LLP is proud to announce that Chairman and Managing Partner Regina M. Pisa was recently inducted into YWCA Boston’s Academy of Women Achievers Class of 2002.

“It is a tremendous honor to be inducted into the Academy of Women Achievers, and to be in the company of such remarkable women who have made a significant and positive impact,” said Pisa. “I am often heard encouraging and challenging women to set their sights high and to take more risks. This empowers them to make a difference. The Academy of Women Achievers recognizes women who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and achievement in their professional and civic lives. Since its establishment in 1995, more than 80 women have been inducted into the Academy of Women Achievers.

In 1998, Pisa became the first woman in the United States to be named both chairman and managing partner of an American Lawyer 100 firm. In this position, she is responsible for leading the firm’s vision and strategy, as well as expanding its presence nationally. As such, she is chairman of the firm's management committee and executive committee.

In addition, Pisa is chairman of the firm’s banking group and maintains her practice in the financial services area, focusing on mergers and acquisitions of banks and financial institutions.

Outside of the firm, Pisa serves on numerous Boards for various community organizations and institutions, including Citizens Financial Group, Inc., Jobs for Massachusetts, Inc. Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, Simmons College, Women's Educational and Industrial Union, Franciscan Children’s Hospital, and Easter Seals Society, Massachusetts, among others.
