Summary
Please join The Legal Aid Society’s Community Development Project and Goodwin’s Neighborhood Business Initiative for a six-part workshop series designed to provide education for entrepreneurs about the legal and regulatory foundations involved in launching a cannabis business in New York.
You are welcome to attend one, several or all of the workshops. This series aims to maximize the social and economic equity aspects of the Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act by making this information widely available, so we appreciate you sharing this invitation throughout your networks.
The third event in this series, Entity Selection and Formation, discusses the limited liability and the two types of entities that offer limited liability to their owners (LLCs and Corporations). Presenters will outline general considerations as to why and when to form each type of entity and the core differences between them, including steps to formation, ongoing governance requirements and basic tax considerations.
