The legitimacy of daily fantasy sports has been bolstered by the support it has received from major U.S. sports leagues, but is all of this actually legal? The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 (the “UIGEA”) expressly contemplates fantasy sports contests being conducted as games of skill, and thus not illegal gambling as a matter of federal law. In this two-hour Webcast, a panel will provide an in-depth analysis of these issues, as well as identifying best practices for daily fantasy sports operators to comply with applicable laws.
