New companies face an uphill climb that only gets steeper. Startups that make an early misstep will most certainly never reach their goal, while the cost of legal representation for routine startup processes can burden finite finances.
We know how hard it is to start a company. You have unlimited questions and opportunities but limited time and money to address them. That’s why a group of enterprising Goodwin lawyers created Founders Workbench – a free and robust resource to use on your time and your terms. We assembled a comprehensive suite of “open source” tools to address the most fundamental legal matters all startups face. From incorporation and tax considerations to financing, operating and growing your business to protecting your intellectual property, Founders Workbench has valuable, practical guidance to get your business off the ground and on the right path.
When it was introduced in 2010, Founders Workbench was a first-of-its-kind free online legal advisory resource powered by an AmLaw 50 firm. Since then, it has helped countless young companies get up and running. Founders Workbench has been expanded to provide legal documents for establishing limited liability companies, along with innovative web mobile apps for managing finances and understanding relevant legal and business terms. Founders Workbench 3.0 was released in 2016 and included Founders Finder, an open source navigation tool that connects entrepreneurs to the best industry-wide information as well as Founders University, an online resource with video tutorials and instructive posts from Goodwin attorneys and others.
